No, it is not necessary. In fact, most of our students enter our program with little to no prior truck driving experience. In addition to that, you must have your regular Driver’s License. However, if you are coming from another state then OHIO, then yes, you must have the CDL permit.

Watch the steps below;

• If you have your regular driver’s license, you are fine. If not, go to the closest DMV and get your driver’s license.
• Decide about what kind of CDL you will get. There are 3 options as CDL-A, CDL-B, and CDL-C.
• Study for CDL permit exam.
• You have your driver’s license. Go to the DMV again. Ask them about the CDL permit exam and fill up the forms correct way, and then take the CDL permit exam on the computer.
• For example, you will need to take 3 different exams for CDL-A permit. Those are; general knowledge, combination vehicles, and air brakes.
• If you are going to pass all three exams, you will be able to get the CDL-A permit.
• Remember! Some states have unlimited chances to try. You can take the exam every day (For example it is unlimited in state of OHIO). However, some states have limits. Ask that before you take the exam. Be very careful about that.
• You can study those exams on the CDL permit study book, or the easiest way is on your phone apps.

You need these items below

• Regular Driver’s License from your own state.
• Work permit, Green Card, or Citizenship.
• Social Security Number (This item only applies if you are not from OHIO)
• Some states have the requirement of holding a regular driver’s license. If your state is one of them, you need to wait for 1 year. If you want to move to another state or OHIO to get it faster, please contact us. We can help you with housing.

It is totally up to you. It is mostly about your language level. If you have a good English, it will be better for you to learn everything by the book. If not, you can look at the apps on your phone. A lot of applications are available online, which you can search as “CDL Permit” at your app store. Study those questions and take the exams.

Also remember that! Some states have different language options at the exam sites. So, if you are a foreigner check those options too. It might make your job easier at the exam with your own first language.

Most states will require you to take it right after you pass the CDL permit exam, and they will not even give you the printed copy of your CDL permit without you giving them the DOT Physical paperwork. DMV will need all pages that you will receive from the doctor. A department of Transportation physical examination must be conducted by a licensed “medical examiner” listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry. That registered office will test you for; hearing, vision, blood pressure, urinalysis, physical examination, mouth and throat, neurological exam, heart and lungs, hernias, sleep apnea, and spine and musculoskeletal system.

It is usually 6 months. Check your permit after you receive it. It has the expiration date on it. Always remember that your CDL permit must be valid at the final exam time after your complete school. School takes around 3-4 weeks to complete. TruckTrailerPro CDL School takes you to the final exam right away after you graduate, but it can vary at other schools depending on how busy their test sites are. Some states have very long waiting times. Always ask that question to your CDL school before you register with them.

You can even go to a CDL school on the same day as your permit receiving day. You do not have to have a plastic hard copy of it. You can also go and register at the CDL school with printed CDL permit by the DMV. We have our classes opening every 2 weeks for the weekday classes, and every 4 weeks for the weekend classes. Most probably there will be no issue finding a spot with us soon.

• Check this website first. Search for the school by the name. If you do not see the school on this website, do not go there. https://tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov/search
• CDL schools in the USA have different prices which you will see them between $3,000 – $10,000. Do not decide by only looking at their prices. Check the comments of their school. If you see a school with very low prices, be cautious about that for sure.
• Be careful about the contract you will sign. Check how many hours of education you will get from them. The most important part of education is learning it, not only passing the exam. We recommend 120-160 hours of education. Most trucking companies will not even hire you for less than those hours of education. Laws in Ohio say that we must teach you for a minimum of 80 hours. However, that is not possible to learn everything in that kind of short term.
• The prices in the city of the CDL school are very important. Usually, students spend 2-4 weeks in the city of the CDL school. You will have expenses like food, gas, etc. Do not let life expenses pass your CDL school cost. Dayton/OH is a great city for that reason.
• Make sure there will be a problem solver at the school when you have a problem. Finding a great team is always hard. • We have a policy which is ruled by the state; 1 Certified instructor can teach MAX 8 students at the same time. However, we usually have less than 8 students per instructor.
• We do not have to have it, but we do have an instructor which is very knowledgeable about Pre-Trip Inspection. That will help you go through everything to teach you PTI (Pre-Trip Inspection). There will be PTI trucks and trailers available any time you are taking education. We have those trucks and trailers only used for PTI education, and trucks and trailers at the PTI and maneuvering are same trucks and trailers with the ones at the exam site. So, you will be very familiar with.
• We do have our road specialized instructors which will give you great education of road training with our brand-new Volvo 2024 road trucks. These educations are going to be personalized with 1 instructor and only 1 student at the time.
• At our range, we do have 7 different parking maneuvering training areas with 7 trucks and trailers running at the same time. You will have enough driving experience, not waiting experience as other schools do.
• We will never tell you “Go learn it at home, and then come back” as most other schools. We will teach you everything in the field. Do you have to study at home? Yes, you do. However, it will be after we give you all the information.
• Some schools have only 1 (Not Licensed) instructor, 1 truck, and 1 trailer with more than 50 students. How much you can learn from this kind of school? Currently, we have 12 full time licensed instructors, 24 trucks, and 24 trailers. Our classroom capacity is 26 at the time. Trust us! You will feel the professionalism and quality of education which will be worthy to pay us the amount we are asking you to pay.

• TruckTrailerPro CDL School has enough trucks and trailers (Currently 24 trucks, and 24 trailers) for more than the student capacity. We want to make sure everybody gets enough practice time. Plus, trucks and trailers can break down any time. We do not want that situation to affect our education. Extra trucks and trailers will be always available when we need to replace the current trucks and trailers, we need to teach at any time.
• TruckTrailerPro CDL School gives you between 80-160 hours of education depending on your contract. That will give you a chance to graduate early and start your trucking career.
• TruckTrailerPro CDL School does not have online education. Every single step of our education is on the field and hands on. We are located at 1602 Valley Street, Dayton, Ohio, 45404. This is the only location we have for now.
• TruckTrailerPro CDL School gives you classroom education first. Most schools will ask you to get an ELDTE certificate which will cost you around $250, and you will have to pay for that. That certificate is earned by online education. However, we think that it is not a good way to do it. You save time that way, but you miss very important steps to get used to basically everything for your education. CDL license you will get with us will already get you this certificate covered. With our classroom education, you will get loaded by a lot of theorical education. That will give you a great opportunity to get used to doing Pre-Trip Inspection. Our professional instructors will be always with you. TruckTrailerPro CDL School also created many educational videos for the students. You will also have a chance to watch those videos to see Pre-Trip inspection, Range Parking, and Driving. We believe that everybody has different ways to learn. We do our best to give you different types of education to get your CDL without having a hard time.
• TruckTrailerPro CDL School does not have any hidden costs. However, most schools will have some extra costs which will surprise you.
• After you graduate from the classroom, TruckTrailerPro CDL School will give you a minimum of 40 hours of behind-the-wheel time at the range and road. Students must get a minimum of 30 hours of parking training, and a minimum of 10 hours of road training. This education can be extended if the student needs more hours to graduate.
• After students complete the classroom, range, and road educations students will have exams for every single step. If the students get enough points to pass, then our instructors will graduate you and you will be ready to get your certificate for the next step, which is the final exam. If the student is graduated, it is very hard for that student to be unsuccessful at the final exam. TruckTrailerPro CDL School has a very high percentage rate at the final exam. If the student fails, it is most of the time because of getting nervous.

• There are many schools shutting down by the federal government, or state. Students must be sure about they are getting education by the school which is applying all federal and state rules and regulations to their school to not have any problem in the future. Once the school is shut down, the government will investigate all the certificates that have been taken from that school in the last 3 years. Do not risk your money and time! • TruckTrailerPro CDL School has a variety of different nation students. If you are foreigner, you will not feel different. If you are American, you will also not feel different. We are combining all nations at our school to create good diversity.
• By the rules, you can only get educated in English. After school hours, other than school education we can support you for the points that you don’t understand with different languages. However, if you see a school which gives you an education in a different language, stay away from them. Because it is not how it is supposed to be!

Weekday Classes: If you are free on the weekdays, then you can register for our weekday classes. Weekday classes take between 2-4 weeks to graduate. We open new enrollment for weekday classes every 2 weeks. Our weekday classes are Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.

Weekend Classes: If you want to work at your job on weekdays, and go to the CDL school at the weekends, you can register for our weekend classes. Weekend classes take between 4-6 weeks to graduate. We might have changes at prices at any time. The terms of payment are below;

• The first payment is the deposit which is $500. You can send it with ZELLE. Our ZELLE account is registered under [email protected]. You can call us to use the other payment methods. We can get certified check, ACH, Credit or Debit Card, or cash payments.
• The first day you will be at TruckTrailerPro CDL School, we will charge you $2000. You can use certified check, ACH, Credit or Debit Card, or cash for the payments. And in this way, you will be paid total of $2500.
• The last week of your education, you will have time until the last day to pay off the total amount. Unfortunately, before you pay the total amount, we will not be able to graduate you. So, you will not be able to take the final exam.

-Cash, Certified Check, and ACH payment methods are the only payment methods which is not going to cost you anything extra.

-Card payments will be charged an extra %3, because of the credit card processing fee.

-If you have a good credit score (Over 580), we can get you the loan. Please contact us to get details.

-If you do not have a good credit score, we do have our In-House Credit system. That system has a limit, once we reach that limit, that credit system will not be able to approve you. To be approved for this credit, you must put $2500 deposit. The rest of it will be received by us by payments.

Most schools will have a lot of hidden service fees. At TruckTrailerPro CDL School everything is very clear. You pay what you get for. Here are some extra costs you might have at our school;

• DOT Physical. If you want to get this service from us, we will charge you $120.
• If you fail the final exam, you will have to take the exam again. It will cost you between $334-$390. We have a high percentage rate for the passing rate at the first exam. However, some of our students get nervous, or something goes wrong at the exam, and they fail because of that. So, you know what you will pay for.
• If you come from out of state and need housing. You will pay for every day you will stay at our house. It is $30 per day.

Certainly, our school offers housing options for students.

You must take the drug test at our school before you can drive our vehicles. The test screens for various prohibited substances including THC, which is found in marijuana.

First, you will have to stop your education at our school. After that, you will have to spend around 2 weeks at the clearance house certification program which is going to cost you around $1000. However, the hardest point of it is not that. It will be tough for you to find a job with this record on your driver’s license.

While two to three weeks of training might seem extensive, TruckTrailerPro CDL School offers a program completion in just three to four 40-hour weeks. For those with daytime commitments, weekend classes are also available.

Class A CDL training equips students for entry-level positions as commercial truck drivers capable of handling over-the-road (OTR), regional, or local routes. On the other hand, a Class B CDL allows driving a single vehicle with a gross weight exceeding 26,000 pounds, such as tow trucks, dump trucks, delivery trucks, or utility trucks. Yes, if you can communicate with people, and have a capacity to read and understand the road signs, you can register at any CDL School in the USA. We had many students this way.

Sorry to say that, but we are not a language school. You need to improve your English level first, and then come to our school to get education of Commercial Driver’s License.

If the classroom capacity is not full, yes you can start (Only if you come to the classroom at 8am on Wednesday or earlier in the week). However, you will have to take the Monday and Tuesday classes subjects that you missed in the meantime. At the weekends it is a little bit different. Students need to catch the second week’s Saturday (Only if you come to the classroom at 7am on Saturday of second week or earlier in the last weekend) to continue with the ongoing classroom.

No, unfortunately you cannot. The latest day we are taking new students to ongoing classroom is Wednesday.

Of course, we cannot guarantee you any income for these kind of jobs in Dayton/OH. However, there are some students who are doing it this way.

E Restriction: The E restriction on a CDL usually indicates that the driver is only allowed to operate vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. This restriction means that the driver is not authorized to operate vehicles with manual (stick-shift) transmissions.

Program to Remove Restriction: There is a program available to individuals who hold a Class A or Class B CDL with an “E restriction”. This program appears to provide training or testing that, upon successful completion, allows these individuals to have the E restriction removed from their CDL.

By completing this program and having the E restriction removed, drivers would then be allowed to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles with their CDL.

Of course, the economy is also a big factor here. If the economy is good, and if there is a good match between driver and company, then the drivers usually make between $12,000 and $15,000. However, we also see some drivers make between $7,000 and $8,000.

Yes, you can register at our school before you receive your work permit. However, you cannot start to study at our school before you receive your work permit from the USCIS. To register at our school, you only need to pay us a $500 non-refundable deposit, and we can hold your spot for future classes. You can get your regular driver’s license, CDL permit, SSN, and then come to our CDL school to study.

We hear that companies offer this to their customers. It is the wrong step. You should be aware of this kind of answer by the CDL Schools. We recommend you wait until you receive your work permit. No, you cannot. If any school tells you “YES”, stay away from them. They are going to steal your money. To register at the CDL School, you will need a minimum of these documents, a work permit, regular driver’s license, and social security number. If you have your CDL in Canada, or Mexico the answer is “YES” after you get specific permits. However, all other country residents must go to the CDL school, and then get their license. Other country CDL’s are not valid in the USA. After you get your license in the USA, you can drive.
