What is DOT Physical?

Most states will require you to take it right after you pass the CDL permit exam, and they will not even give you the printed copy of your CDL permit without you giving them the DOT Physical paperwork. DMV will need all pages that you will receive from the doctor. A department of Transportation physical examination must be conducted by a licensed “medical examiner” listed on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) National Registry. That registered office will test you for; hearing, vision, blood pressure, urinalysis, physical examination, mouth and throat, neurological exam, heart and lungs, hernias, sleep apnea, and spine and musculoskeletal system.

How long time I have after I get my CDL permit to go to the CDL School?

It is usually 6 months. Check your permit after you receive it. It has the expiration date on it. Always remember that your CDL permit must be valid at the final exam time after your complete school. School takes around 3-4 weeks to complete. TruckTrailerPro CDL School takes you to the final exam right away after you graduate, but it can vary at other schools depending on how busy their test sites are. Some states have very long waiting times. Always ask that question to your CDL school before you register with them.

How soon I can go to a CDL school after I get my CDL Permit?

You can even go to a CDL school on the same day as your permit receiving day. You do not have to have a plastic hard copy of it. You can also go and register at the CDL school with printed CDL permit by the DMV. We have our classes opening every 2 weeks for the weekday classes, and every 4 weeks for the weekend classes. Most probably there will be no issue finding a spot with us soon.

FMCSA-Certified Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) – Hazardous Materials (H) Endorsement

If you’re seeking to add a Hazardous Materials (H) Endorsement to your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), this federally approved training is required before you can take the HazMat knowledge exam.
