    Is a CDL permit required before starting training? down icon

    No, it is not necessary. In fact, most of our students enter our program with little to no prior truck driving experience. In addition to that, you must have your regular Driver’s License. However, if you are coming from another state then OHIO, then yes, you must have the CDL permit.

    How can I get my CDL permit? down icon

    Watch the steps below;

    • If you have your regular driver’s license, you are fine. If not, go to the closest DMV and get your driver’s license.
    • Decide about what kind of CDL you will get. There are 3 options as CDL-A, CDL-B, and CDL-C.
    • Study for CDL permit exam.
    • You have your driver’s license. Go to the DMV again. Ask them about the CDL permit exam and fill up the forms correct way, and then take the CDL permit exam on the computer.
    • For example, you will need to take 3 different exams for CDL-A permit. Those are; general knowledge, combination vehicles, and air brakes.
    • If you are going to pass all three exams, you will be able to get the CDL-A permit.
    • Remember! Some states have unlimited chances to try. You can take the exam every day (For example it is unlimited in state of OHIO). However, some states have limits. Ask that before you take the exam. Be very careful about that.
    • You can study those exams on the CDL permit study book, or the easiest way is on your phone apps.

    What do I need, to get the permit for CDL? down icon

    You need these items below

    • Regular Driver’s License from your own state.
    • Work permit, Green Card, or Citizenship.
    • Social Security Number (This item only applies if you are not from OHIO)
    • Some states have the requirement of holding a regular driver’s license. If your state is one of them, you need to wait for 1 year. If you want to move to another state or OHIO to get it faster, please contact us. We can help you with housing.

    How can I study for CDL permit exams? down icon

    It is totally up to you. It is mostly about your language level. If you have a good English, it will be better for you to learn everything by the book. If not, you can look at the apps on your phone. A lot of applications are available online, which you can search as “CDL Permit” at your app store. Study those questions and take the exams.

    Also remember that! Some states have different language options at the exam sites. So, if you are a foreigner check those options too. It might make your job easier at the exam with your own first language.
